nesting time
the birds in our back garden are going about the business of nest building, i've been on leave for the last few days which has given me time to catch up with what has been going on in the garden, first of all (panic stations) the camera in the blue tit box has packed in, sent it back to HANDYKAM for testing, hopefully have it back in the next few days, been watching the blackbirds and they are building 3 different nests, is this normal?, the robin has decided to nest in somebody else's garden this year (for the first brood anyway), he keeps coming back to ours for the mealworms, have taken a few photos today, hope you like them.

still no bluetit
wasn't in the box last night and when i looked in the garden this morning only one bluetit was on the feeders where normally you would see two, fear the worst but that's nature, hopefully it will find a new mate and with a bit of luck rear their young in the box.

no blue tit
put the camera on tonight and the bluetit wasn't there, it's the first time that it hasn't been in the box at night since november, hope that nothing has happened to it, maybe it has found better lodgings,

the bluetit is still roosting in the box, tonight the temperature is 4 below, but as you can see on the video, he or she (how can you tell?)is as snug as a bug in a rug, watched it this morning as it left the box, and another bluetit greeted it, with a lot of dancing and shaking of bodies, then they flew off together.

the bluetit started roosting about a week ago, it flies in about 16-30 and leaves between 7-45 and 8-15, decided to devote a blog so that anybody interested can see exactly what happens over the coming months, will do my best to post at least 3 times a week.
